Privacy Policy

Who we are

Floating Voices is a community-led, eco-educational barge programme operating in Ireland. We are committed to protecting your personal data and handling it responsibly in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Irish data protection law.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at info@floatingvoices.ie.

What data we collect and why

Contact formWhen you submit our contact form, we collect your first name, last name, email address, phone number, and message. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.

Newsletter signupIf you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and pass it to Mailchimp, our email marketing provider, to send you updates about the Floating Voices programme. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every email.

Website usageWe do not currently use analytics software or tracking cookies on this website. If this changes, this policy will be updated before any tracking is introduced.

Legal basis for processing

We process your personal data on the following bases under GDPR:

  • Legitimate interests — responding to enquiries you have initiated through our contact form
  • Consent — sending newsletter communications to subscribers who have opted in

How we store and protect your data

Contact form submissions are stored securely by Webflow, our website platform. Newsletter subscriber data is stored and processed by Mailchimp in accordance with their own privacy policy and data processing agreement. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party beyond these two service providers, except where required by law.

How long we keep your data

We retain contact form enquiries for as long as necessary to respond to and resolve your query, and no longer than 12 months thereafter. Newsletter subscriber data is retained for as long as you remain subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)
  • Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (Ireland) at www.dataprotection.ie

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@floatingvoices.ie.
